As coach I search for the connection between the personal story and the professional context
In addition to my work as coach, I have a job as science policy advisor and scientific editor at the University Medical Center Groningen.
After my graduation as a pharmacist, I worked as a researcher at the University of Groningen in the field of social studies of drugs and drug use. Also, I was the principal teacher at a course on patient communication and education, and its organisational aspects in community pharmacy.
In 2001 I obtained my PhD in the field of Social Pharmacy at the University of Groningen. The focus of my research was the social impact of highly selected patient populations that are included in pre-marketing clinical trials. From 2001 until 2009 I worked in the field of science and technology studies at the Dutch Health Care Insurance Board (CVZ, now called Zorginstituut Nederland), the University of Amsterdam, and the University of Groningen.
In 2011 I finished the course Coaching for Professionals at the Leiden School for Coaching. In my coach practice, I apply the principles of mutual respect between the coach and coachee, integrity, and confidentiality.
